The year 2018 saw XASTHUR reaping the rewards of frenzied creativity with two albums hitting the street: first "A Misleading Reality" and then "Other Worlds of the Mind". At the time, both albums were originally released under the name NOCTURNAL POISONING, but were later added to the canon of the prime band and redesignated accordingly by the artist. Although the expression had shifted from black metal to a more acid folk-like approach, the spiritual core of the music remained the same. XASTHUR meticulously chronicled the experiences of many Americans and folk around the globe that failed to meet the relentlessly rising cost of merely existing. All the elements that made the band unique are still there on "A Misleading Reality": the ominous and deranged, the melancholic brooding and the dreamlike, the sinister and the pain. It's high time to lift this overlooked musical treasure from the gutter again and it will be released on vinyl for the first time. XASTHUR were conceived by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Scott Conner in California, USA in the year 1995. The project started out in the vein of bleak black metal in the tradition of the Nordic second wave. Over the course of nine albums and a host of split-singles, EPs, and occasional demos, XASTHUR's individual, particularly depressive style became highly regarded within the extreme genre. In 2010, Scott announced the end of XASTHUR and returned with an acoustic dark folk project under the banner of NOCTURNAL POISONING. In 2015, the American artist returned to the name XASTHUR, but insisted that his black metal days were over. With "Inevitably Dark", XASTHUR have partly lifted the self-imposed ban on black metal, simply because Conner felt like it and therefore did it.

VEMOD are by no means an average band. The Norwegians exist in the liminal spaces and the crossroads of places. The trio has chiselled their sophomore full-length "The Deepening" from the same sonic granite that its predecessor "Venter på stormene" came from over a decade ago. This bedrock is found in Namsos, where VEMOD were conceived as a lifelong passion project at the turn of the century by then 12-year old Jan Even Åsli. The nearest big city is Trondheim where the fiercely individual local Nidrosian black metal scene, which refers to the city's original name, provided VEMOD with its first point of musical reference as embodied by the first demo "Kringom fjell og skog" (2004).
When the Norwegians reemerged seven years later with both the track "Moestæ Qverelæ" on a split-single and the demo "Vinterilden" in 2011, they had considerably changed. The trio had taken a step outside by strengthening elements that have already been present before: a sprinkle of the majesty reminding of early IN THE WOODS..., a dash of melancholia, and a knife tip of introvert contemplation among a wide range of emotional and vivid sonic imagery. VEMOD's musical transition finds comparable parallels in the development of French brothers-in-spirit ALCEST even though there was no direct influence flowing either way. In hindsight, the Norwegians also pioneered such currently popular styles such as blackgaze and post-black metal, although they never subscribed to either. With their debut full-length "Venter på stormene" just a year later in 2012, VEMOD opened their music to new places: A mind-blowing performance at the prestigious Beyond the Gates festival in 2013 and the legendary special show within the national treasure of the Vigeland Mausoleum at Oslo's Inferno Festival 2014 cemented VEMOD's excellent reputation even across the Atlantic.
Now, "The Deepening" arrives with a different production, which resulted in a changed overall tone compared to earlier works and the Norwegians also reached out and tapped into new stylistic strata adding further elements to their sound. Even the lyrical themes running through "The Deepening" tell of change, transience, transformation, and growth. "The Deepening" offers an opportunity to look past long held beliefs and comforting illusions. At the crossroads of VEMOD's second album at this point in space and time waits a deepening understanding of their musical world.

With "The Fall Of All Things" the Doom veterans DUST from Bielefeld hit us with their fourth album and tear everything down without any compromises.
Their ultra-heavy mixture of doom, metal, sludge and rock with lots of corners and edges wafts out of the speakers in the form of five overlong songs.
The production captures the irrepressible energy and the earthy sound of the foursome gives the listener a pasting with the power of a live show so vehemently, that you're immediately up for a secret basement show where the plaster crumbles from the ceiling. This bastard from Sludge and Stoner rolls angrily over you and announces the end of all being.
Even after 20 years DUST are a guarantor for infinite heavyness, downright the epitome of heavyness.
The vinyl version of the album is correspondingly heavy, with special details such as bronze foil printing on the thick cardboard cover, the 180g vinyl completes the package.
Available as limited first edition digipak and heavy vinyl.
Vinyl details:
· 180g heavy vinyl for maximum quality and durability

Regarding subject matter "Nemesis" describes at best the direction of DEAD ALONE’s new album. Devastation, death and sadness are the leading topics of this longplayer that is the most grown up and multi-faceted one of the group so far. Between Death, Black and Doom Metal DEAD ALONE created their own multi-dimensional space for over ten years and develope it consistently with "Nemesis". Steadily changing between aggression and grief these ten new compositions are creating a vortex that tears the listeners right into the darkness and captures them merciless between these extremes.
The drums were recorded at the "Devasoundz Studios" (SEPTICFLESH, ROTTING CHRIST, CHAOSTAR) in Athens directed by Fotis Benardo (SEPTICFLESH, CHAOSTAR). For the recordings of bass guitars, guitars and vocals DEAD ALONE worked with Sebastian Moser of the "Grotesque Studios" in Munich again, who already gave “Ad Infinitum” the right sound. Besides the recordings the mix and the mastering were also made there.

Split LP from Berlin based blackened crust collective ANCST and KING APATHY (formerly known as THRÄNENKIND).
With these new songs ANCST is heading out into much more melodic territories while still featuring the aggression of former releases. This split delivers 2 new songs of bastard sound black metal / hardcore crossover that takes no prisoners.
KING APATHY also contribute 2 new songs with oppressive atmosphere instead of blazing speed or brutality. KING APATHY change effortlessly between melodic metal, post black metal, crust, post rock and hardcore punk without putting obvious priorities or rather core areas. The focus - still - lies on creating a sound of melancholy as well as lasting impressions.

THE DUSKFALL is back! Their new opus which was mastered by Ahti Kortelainen (Sonata Arctica, Moonsorrow, Sentenced…) marks the band’s return to the scene after seven years of silence and delivers all the strengths of the Swedish metallers! Intense guitar solos, unforgettable melodies and brutal death / thrash riffing are the most obvious elements of the band’s style. Above all soars the aggressive, yet emotional voice of Magnus that gives a very special edge to anthems like “Endgame”, “Farewell” or “We The Freaks”.
With “Where The Tree Stands Dead” THE DUSKFALL truly embraced the essence of their sound. This IS Swedish Metal at its very best!
